Light as Beacon of Hope

Light as Beacon of Hope
Where there is darkness, there is light. Our history has consisted of glorious and challenging moments. There were times of peace, coexistence, and development, but also times of discrimination, war, and regression.
However, rather than staying in the dark, we want to change and move forward into the light. We’ve tried to go beyond, and and this process of effort is seen in the form of records. The memories that you will encounter in this space are those moments and efforts.

The Memory of the World embodies UNESCO’s founding purposes:
“freedom and human rights,” “peace and security,” and “international cooperation,”

※ To realize fundamental freedoms, human rights, the rule of law, and universal justice declared in the UN Charter, UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organisation) was founded to contribute to peace and security by promoting cooperation in the international community through education, science, and cultural exchanges between countries.
